Izložba Hvatači snova obuhvaća presjek suvremene umjetničke marginalne – autsajderske i art brut scene iz Hrvatske i Srbije i prvi je takav projekt i početak razvoja suradnje likovne marginalne scene zemalja regije Balkana i istočne Europe. Nastala je u suradnji sa udruženjem Art Brut Serbia (ABS) koje se od svog osnutka 2014. godine bavi otkrivanjem novih, ,,nevidljivih’’ stvaraoca i talenata, te njihovim uključivanjem u društveni i kulturno-umjetnički život.

Na izložbi je predstavljeno dvadeset umjetnika iz Hrvatske i Srbije. Neki od njih već su poznati publici, a neki izlažu prvi put. Zajedničko im je da stvaraju izvan ustaljenih umjetničkih okvira, da krše uvriježene norme – kako u formi tako i u sadržaju, da često nemaju formalno likovno obrazovanje, ali zato imaju snažan poriv za izražavanjem. Njihova zapanjujuća, čudnovata i maštovita djela odvode nas u neke druge svjetove, ponekad mračne i fantazmagorične. Radovi nastaju u različitim medijima, od crteža i kolaža do videa.

Autsajderi koje upoznajemo na izložbi Hvatači snova relativno rijetko imaju priliku izlagati, osobito na poziv, pa se stoga većinom snalaze sami i djeluju na underground sceni. Istodobno postoji interes publike za njihovom umjetnošću i stoga je ova izložba važna kako za same umjetnike, tako i za raznovrsnost na umjetničkoj sceni općenito. Svi srpski umjetnici na izložbi članovi su udruženja Art Brut Srbia koje je pokrenuo Goran Stojčetović, i sam pripadnik marginalne scene. Izložbom Hvatači snova želimo pokazati raznolikost umjetničkog izričaja marginalnih umjetnika i istaknuti važnost njezinog postojanja na suvremenoj umjetničkoj sceni.

Hrvatskih autsajdera na izložbi je jedanaest: Krešimir Hlup, Božidar Štef Golub, Gojislav Kalapač Goja, Margareta Vidmar i Exos Lucius Ido, Simon Petkovich, Dubravko Sertić, Nenad Burcar, Darko Brajković, Petar Brajković, Elvis Berton i Ivan Švalj.

The exhibition Dream Catchers includes the art works of the contemporary marginal, outsider, and art brut scenes from Croatia and Serbia. It is the first such a project and represents the beginning of cooperation in this field in the countries of the Balkans and Eastern Europe. The project was created in cooperation with the Art Brut Serbia association (ABS), which, since its establishment in 2014, has been engaged in discovering new, "invisible" creators and talents, and including them in social and cultural-artistic life.

Twenty artists from Croatia and Serbia were presented at the exhibition. Some of them are already known to the public, and some are exhibiting for the first time. They have in common that they: a) create outside established artistic frameworks; b) break established norms, both in form and in content; c) often have no formal art education, but they possess a strong urge to express themselves. Their astonishing, strange, and imaginative works take us to some other worlds, sometimes dark and phantasmagoric. The works are created in different media, from drawings and collages to video.

The outsiders we meet at the exhibition Dream Catchers relatively rarely have the opportunity to exhibit, especially by invitation, so they mostly manage on their own and operate in the underground scene. At the same time, there is a public interest in their art and therefore this exhibition is important both for the artists themselves and for diversity in the art scene in general. All Serbian artists at the exhibition are members of the Art Brut Serbia association, which was formed by Goran Stojčetović, a member of the marginal scene. With the Dream Catchers exhibition, we want to show the diversity of artistic expression of marginal artists and highlight the importance of its existence on the contemporary art scene.
